It's now official: Team Rocket returns in Fated Rivals
It had been in the air for a while, especially after the announcement of the Japanese set Glory of Team Rocket , but today The Pokémon Company has put to rest all doubts: Team Rocket is also returning to Italy in the new set Scarlet & Violet: Fated Rivals !
The new Pokémon TCG expansion will debut in Italy on May 30, 2025, with pre-release previews starting on May 19, where the various Pokémon leagues will be able to start having fun with strategic Team Rocket-themed challenges!
According to Nintendo, the set currently includes:
- 83 new Team Rocket cards
- 17 Pokémon-ex, including 10 Trainers' Pokémon-ex
- 23 Rare Pokémon Illustration Cards
- 11 Rare Special Illustration Pokémon Cards
- Six specially imprinted Hyper Golden Rare cards
As expected, the trainers' Pokémon will also be returning for this expansion, including Ethan's Oh-Ho, Cynthia's Garchomp , and Giovanni's Mewtwo.
The Western set will be a combination of the Japanese Heat Wave Arena and Glory of The Team Rocket sets, with cards also taken from Rocco's competitive decks and Mary.
The announcement also covered the aesthetics in the new Allen set star player of Fated Rivals, as well as the artwork of the single packs.
